About

Hi, I'm Dummy Cycle! I make ROM Hacks, mods, and if I'm feeling particularly inspired, original games!

Where Does the Name Come From?

In computing, a dummy cycle is a processor clock cycle that doesn't perform useful work but is necessary for the CPU to operate correctly. It's a fun little name that perfectly encapsulates what I do here at Dummy Cycle: nothing useful!

Why are you SO RETRO!!!

I love retro games, and retro consoles. It's super fun programming within limitations for older game consoles, and nothing quite beats the feeling of seeing your game on real hardware, not just a computer or emulator.

What Games do You Make?

I make what I consider "coffee break games." Games that you can pick up for 15 minutes and put back down are some of my favorite types of games, and that's the type of experience I want to provide. Not all my games will be arcade-y, high score games, but all my games will be designed for short and long play sessions alike!

What Are You Working On Now?

Well, that tends to rotate a lot, lol. If you want to keep up with my latest projects, you should follow my YouTube channel!
